The Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapakse invited Tamil Diaspora to invest in the North to raise the living standard of the Tamil people.He said this yesterday (14th) during a five day visit to the North. The Minister said investments in the North would largely benefit people in the North.
The government had, during the recent past, charged the Tamil Diaspora for various crimes including attempts to revive the LTTE and indulge the country in terrorism again. The local government elections that were postponed to councils in the area are scheduled to be held on 23rd of this month.
